Creston RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating a 41-year-old man wanted in connection with multiple criminal charges and an alleged breach of court-ordered release conditions.
Police say Thomas Robert Linthorne is believed to be somewhere in the Kootenays. He is described as six feet tall and about 275 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
RCMP say Linthorne is facing charges that include possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, an unauthorized weapons-possession charge, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, multiple counts of failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of flight from police while operating a motor vehicle.
Police also list allegations of driving while disqualified, dangerous operation of a conveyance and driving while prohibited or while his licence was suspended.
The RCMP release lists three police files connected with the allegations: 24-1501, 26-697 and 26-669. The older file is also reflected in B.C. court records, which list trafficking and weapons charges.
Police are warning anyone who sees Linthorne not to approach him and to contact local police instead.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Creston RCMP at 250-428-9313.
A historic mine opening near Rossland’s Kootenay Columbia Trail will be permanently sealed, with a three-week trail closure beginning Sept. 28 so crews can complete the work.
