Kelowna RCMP seek information after stabbing near Dilworth Drive

Kelowna RCMP are asking witnesses and anyone with video to come forward as investigators work to identify a suspect in a roadside stabbing that left one person seriously injured Thursday night.
Police were notified at about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 3 after a person was stabbed near the intersection of Dilworth Drive and Summit Drive.
The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police Dog Services searched the area but did not locate the suspect. RCMP believe the suspect initially fled on a scooter, which may later have been abandoned and subsequently seized by police as part of the investigation.
Investigators were initially unable to obtain detailed information about what happened because of the victim's condition. RCMP said in its Sept. 4 release that the risk to the public remained unknown.
The Kelowna RCMP General Investigations Section has taken over the investigation. Police processed and released the outdoor scene and were canvassing nearby homes and businesses for surveillance footage as investigators worked to identify and locate the suspect.
The Sept. 4 release did not include a suspect description or say whether the victim and suspect knew one another. It also did not say whether investigators believe the stabbing was targeted.
As of Monday, Sept. 7, Kelowna RCMP had not published a further update on the investigation.
