Kettle River Museum art show returns Aug. 15 after successful first year
The Kettle River Museum in Midway will host its second annual outdoor Art Show and Sale on Aug. 15, featuring artists from across the Boundary.

MIDWAY, B.C. — Artists from across the Boundary will gather in Midway on Aug. 15 as the Kettle River Museum brings back its outdoor Art Show and Sale for a second year.
The second annual event will feature artists from Big White, Rock Creek and the West Boundary through to Greenwood, with work available for visitors to view and purchase.
The show follows the museum’s inaugural event last year, which was described as a success in a March report from the Kettle River Museum to Midway council.
The report thanked Megan Peters and museum members who worked on the event and said participating artists were excited to return. The museum also said the show met its goal of bringing in additional members.
At the time of the March report, the Kettle River Museum had 49 members.
The art show is one of several ways locally produced art has been incorporated into the museum. Its report to council noted a forestry and wildlife mural painted by a local artist, as well as original paintings displayed throughout the museum buildings.
The museum is a regional museum located in Midway at Mile 0 of the Kettle Valley Railway. Its grounds include the original Station House, an artifacts yard, a Canadian Pacific Railway caboose and a section house, with exhibits covering the Kettle River Valley’s rail, mining, forestry and agricultural history.
The museum also provides visitor services for people travelling through the area. According to its 2025 report, staff assisted cyclists using the KVR-Trans Canada Trail and other travellers and directed visitors to stores, restaurants, accommodations and parks in Midway, with the stated goal of keeping visitors in the Boundary.
The museum reported an increase in visitors to the site during its 2025 season.
The Kettle River Museum Art Show and Sale takes place Saturday, Aug. 15. The current event announcement does not list specific public hours or identify the participating artists by name.
