DAWSON CREEK — RCMP are asking for the public’s help finding a 34-year-old man who disappeared after working on a farm in northern Alberta and had intended to return home.
Zachary Lazinchuk was reported missing Aug. 12, according to Dawson Creek RCMP.
Police say Lazinchuk had been working on a farm in Saddle Hills, Alta., and last spoke with his family on July 22. At the time, he intended to return home.
He has not been seen or heard from since.
Investigators do not know whether Lazinchuk remained in Alberta or travelled to B.C. as planned, leaving the search potentially spanning both provinces.
RCMP said family and friends describe the prolonged lack of contact as out of character and police are “very concerned” for his health and well-being.
Lazinchuk is described as 34 years old, six-foot-two and approximately 229 pounds, with a shaved head and hazel eyes.
He is associated with a green 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab with an aluminum flat deck. The truck bears B.C. licence plate 01574A.
Anyone who has seen Lazinchuk or his vehicle, or who has information about his whereabouts, is asked to contact local police.
Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
