Border Bruins add Miller, Walker as roster build continues

Dylan Walker, left, a 2008-born defenceman from the Beaverlodge Blades, and Ethan Miller, a 2007-born forward from the 100 Mile House Wranglers, have signed with the Grand Forks Border Bruins for the 2026–27 season.

The Grand Forks Border Bruins have added a forward and a defenceman as the club continues assembling its roster for the 2026–27 season. The additions come as Grand Forks prepares for the inaugural season of the British Columbia Hockey Conference.

The Bruins announced that 2007-born forward Ethan Miller will join the club after playing with the 100 Mile House Wranglers of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. Miller began the 2025–26 season with the Sicamous Eagles before his rights were acquired by 100 Mile House in January.

Grand Forks has also signed 2008-born defenceman Dylan Walker, who comes from the Beaverlodge Blades of the Northwest Junior Hockey League. Walker gives the Bruins another young addition on the blue line as the club works toward training camp.

The Border Bruins will be one of 22 teams competing in the BCHC's first sanctioned Junior A season. Grand Forks will play in the six-team Kootenay Division alongside the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, Columbia Valley Rockies, Fernie Ghostriders, Kimberley Dynamiters and Nelson Leafs.

BCHC teams will play a 50-game regular-season schedule, with 25 games at home and 25 on the road. The league's inaugural regular season is scheduled to begin Sept. 10.

The Bruins have also made an addition to their coaching staff, bringing former Border Bruin Matteus Reis back to Grand Forks as an assistant coach for 2026–27. The club said Reis brings familiarity with the organization and a strong understanding of the game as preparations continue for the coming season.

Miller and Walker join several newcomers already announced by Grand Forks during the off-season. Further roster additions are expected as the Bruins prepare for their first BCHC campaign.
