Mudslides slow traffic on Highway 3, 31

DriveBC is reporting that Highway 3, 10 kilometers west of Creston, is now open to single lane alternating traffic following a mudslide Saturday.
The mudslide happened three kilometers west of Kootenay Pass east gate.
The deluge of precipitation during the past 48 hours also caused a mudslide 12 kilometers north of Coffee Creek Bridge.
The highway has also been reduced to single-lane, alternating traffic.
Friday, a strong frontal system is approaching BC from the southwest spread precipitation to most of southern BC making travel through the passes, including the Blueberry Paulson and Kootenay Pass, treacherous.
