Man missing after boating incident on Slocan Lake

Local RCMP report a 60-year-old man remains missing following a late night boating incident on Slocan Lake Wednesday said Sergeant Monty Taylor in a media release.
Taylor said at approximately 9:45 p.m. Slocan Valley RCMP was notified of an overdue boater on Slocan Lake.
Taylor said the man departed from shore in a 14-foot aluminum boat with his dog at approximately 7:30p.m. The boat trip should have taken only 15 minutes.
He said when the man did not return to his Pebble Beach/Evans Creek residence and dog was heard barking, a concerned male quickly contacted RCMP.
Taylor said Search and Rescue was activated, and with the assistance of New Denver Fire Department, a search of the area commenced.
However, search efforts failed to locate the missing person.
The 60-year-old man is described as 5'7", thin with grey hair and grey beard.
He went missing wearing a yellow jacket and back pack.
