Coroner releases name of man killed in crash near Rock Creek

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Rock Creek on Oct. 3.

He was Douglas Lawrence Leighton, aged 50, most recently of Surrey. Leighton was the driver of a car heading west on Highway 3 at about 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 3. Near the intersection of Myers Creek Road west of RockCreek, the car was in a collision with an eastbound pickup truck.

Leighton was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

Leighton's family has been notified of his death.
