The Best of Fringe Fest -- at the Bailey Theatre

What do drag queens, puppets, film noir, comedy and ukuleles have in common? They are all a part of the upcoming E2 Series at The Bailey Theatre!
If you fancy a night out at The Edmonton Fringe Festival, then consider a series pass right here in your own neighbourhood. E2, which stands for Experiments in Entertainment could be called “The best of the Fringe” this year as the 4 shows booked for this season’s Muriel Griffiths Room series are repeated sell outs across Canada.
The room is dimly lit and holds 100 people, providing a really intimate setting that allows audience members to connect with the artists. The bar is open and the shows do not allow for minors so consider it a perfect setting to catch cutting edge comedy, music and theatre for date night or girls night out.
Beginning Saturday October 1st, Mike Delamont takes to the Bailey stage with God is a Scottish Drag Queen (shown in the theatre due to special lighting requirements). A comedian based on the West Coast, Delamont is an original cast member of the cabaret Atomic Vaudeville and has been performing one man shows since 2010. He has appeared on CBC's The Debaters, SiriusXM's Top Comic, Halifax Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs and is a 3-time Canadian Comedy Award Nominee.
In 2011, Mike Delamont turned all the sketches he had written for Atomic Vaudeville into a full hour long show and began to tour it on the Fringe Festival circuit, to massive critical acclaim. Today, God Is A Scottish Drag Queen (and its sequels) is one of the highest grossing shows on the international fringe circuit. The shows feature an evening with the lord. A funny and hilarious conversation with everyone’s favourite deity about everything from religion to pop culture including Mormons, Circumcision, Star Wars, Scientology, Noah, Adam & Eve and so much more in an unforgettable night of comedy. Don’t eat too much before the show because you can expect 2 hours of belly laughing fun.
Puppets grace the stage next with Baker’s Dozen: 12 Angry Puppets in January, followed by music, silent film and comedy by the Silver Screen Scoundrels in March. The E2 series closes with beautiful sounds of the ukulele and cello from James Hill & Anne Janelle.
