UPDATE in robbery: Three suspects in custody; some guns recovered

Trail and Greater District RCMP have arrested and detained two male suspects, 31 years old, 33 years old and a 41-year-old female in relation to the break-in. 3 of the stolen 15 firearms have been recovered. Investigators have not located the stolen vehicle used in the break-in.

A violent theft early this morning saw 15 guns stolen from a Trail business, according to RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.
“The Trail and Greater District RCMP are investigating a commercial break-in which occurred early Wednesday at the local Canadian Tire Store. Suspects rammed a truck into the building in order to gain entry,” he said. “On July 20, at 3:57 a.m., suspects used a stolen truck to gain entry into the Canadian Tire Store on Highway 3B. RCMP responded to the activated alarm, with the suspects fleeing prior to police arrival.
“A number of items were stolen including 15 firearms.”
Moskaluk shared the attached photo of the stolen truck used to break into the store, and asked that anyone with any information come forward.
“The truck used by the suspects was a stolen vehicle which had been taken from another Trail business in the Waneta area,” he said. “The truck is described as a red 2001 Ford F350 Crew Cab dual axle truck. The box of the truck had a wooden rack and contained a rectangular water tank. At this time the truck has not been located.”
