BC Wildfire Service crews respond to a fire near Nakusp

BC Wildfire Service personnel are currently assisting the local Nakusp fire department with an estimated 1.5-hectare fire burning southeast of Nakusp at Box Lake Lumber.

Two initial attack crews, one helicopter and air tankers are working to contain the fire. No residential homes are currently threatened at this time.
