Tragic ending in search for local woman

An exhaustive search for a local woman who went missing May 24 has come to a very sad end, according to BC RCMP.

Neva Evdokimoff, 48, was last seen at Gyro Park in Trail, and Search and Rescue efforts including boats, quads, helicopters, a plane, and foot searches revealed nothing (for earlier coverage, click here ).

This evening, RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk issued the following release:

“The Trail RCMP have confirmed that missing person Neva Evdokimoff has been located deceased.

“On June 9, Neva Evdokimoff's body was located by the Steven's County Sheriff in Washington, US authorities recovered her body from the Columbia River.

“The Trail and District RCMP continues to assist the BC Coroners Services with their investigation into the death of Neva Evdokimoff. There is no indication of foul play being involved in her death.

“No further information is being released at this time.”
