The long arm of the RCMP finally caught up to a serial bank robber Friday believed to be responsible for hold-ups stretching from B.C. through Alberta to Saskatchewan.

RCMP said a 26-year-old man was arrested around 2:30 p.m. MT in Grande Prairie, Alta Friday.

The man was arrested to face charges - those charges and the man's identity will be released on Monday, police said.

Earlier this week, RCMP said they believed one suspect was responsible for nine bank holdups.

All the robberies involved a weapon either being produced or mentioned, but nobody was injured in any of the incidents. In each case, the suspect has made off with some cash.
