Join millions for Earth Hour

It's just an hour, but in the grand scheme of things it's a mighty big hour.

 

Miillions from around the world will turn off the lights, shut down down the televisions and computers and go dark during the annual Earth Hour.

 

Earth Hour is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, starting at 8:30 p.m. local time.

 

The public is urged to to switch off non-essential lights and electronics for one hour, starting at 8:30 p.m.

 

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia with 2.2 million people turning their lights off for one hour.

 

Last year, more than 6,950 cities and towns in 152 countries and territories switched off.

 

So save the date and keep coming back to earthhour.org to see the world unite to protect the planet.

 

Remember, it's only for one hour.
