Liberals announce new candidate for Boundary-Similkameen

The BC Liberals have announced that Oliver municipal councillor Linda Larson will be the Party’s candidate in Boundary-Similkameen.

Larson is the former Mayor of Oliver, elected in 1997, 1999 and 2002.

“I’m proud to be running for the BC Liberals under Premier Christy Clark,” said Larson. “The Premier has shown tremendous resilience in the position, and I know she is the right choice to continue leading British Columbia.”

Larson is also currently the Chair of the Provincial Board at Community Futures, and previously served on B.C.’s Small Business Roundtable from 2005 to 2011.

“People in this community want a representative that will stand up for a strong economy and family supporting jobs,” added Larson. “B.C. must continue moving forward on a responsible economic path that keeps taxes low and spending under control.”

“I would be honoured to serve the people of Boundary-Similkameen,” said Larson.

Larson joins new candidate Jackie Tegart (Fraser-Nicola) and Teresa Wat (Richmond Centre), announced yesterday, as the newest candidates to join the renewed BC Liberal team.

Larson will be formally nominated on Saturday Feb.2 at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall (6417 Main Street) in Oliver. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting taking place at 10:00 a.m.
