Kimberley's Jared duToit win Johnny Bucyk Junior Tourney, Hoodikoff top WK player

Jared duToit, from Kimberley fired a 54-hole total 221 to capture the top prize at the Johnny Bucyk Junior Golf Championship Sunday at the Creston Golf and Country Club.
After shooting a 5-over-par in round two Saturday, duToit, rebounded to fire a 1-under-par 71 to win the tournament by nine shots over Joel Tremunde of Cranbrook.
“DuToit made very few mistakes over the three rounds and his putting was outstanding,” said Zone One West Kootenay coordinator Rob McKay.
“He made numerous putts in the 12 to 15-foot range to save pars and when he had the opportunity he rolled in birdie putts, making 9 over the three rounds.”
Earlier this season duToit won the MJT Morgan Creek tournament, earning him an exemption into the world junior held in San Diego in July.
He also finished second at the CN Pacific earning him an exemption into the Canadian Junior in Nova Scotia.
Jordan Hoodikoff of Christina Lake was the top player from the West Kootenay zone, finishing in fourth spot at 242.
Six players from the West Kootenay zone followed Hoodikoff — Rossland/Trail's Braden McKay, Garrett Underwood, Tyler McKay, Alex Rugg, Brenan Moroney and Granite Pointe’s Nolan Renwick.
Carson Arcuri of Granite Pointe finished in 16th spot.
