Hoodikoff makes it three straight on Zone One Junior Tour with wins at Granite Pointe and Christina Lake

Jordan Hoodikoff is having his way on the Zone One West Kootenay Junior Golf circuit.

The 18-year-old Grand Forks golfer won for the third time this season, sweeping tournaments at Nelson’s Granite Pointe Saturday and his own Christina Lake course Sunday.

Hoodikoff opened the season by capturing the top prize at the Balfour Golf Course.

Sunday, Hoodikoff looked at home on the 18 hole, 6685-yard Les Furber-designed course, firing a 3-under-par 69.

Tyler McKay, from Rossland/Trail, who tried to make it interesting, finished second with a round or 73.

McKay, one-under-par through 14 holes, played well but two late bogies led to a one over par round of 73.

In flight play Garrett Underwood from Champion Lake and Brenan Moroney from RTCC both carded identical rounds of 76.  

The players went to a three-hole playoff before Underwood ended up taking first in the 17-18 year division.  

Tyler McKay of Rossland took first in the 15-16 year category with Isaac Janzen from Creston getting second with a 78.  

In the 13 -14-year division Braden McKay from RTCC took first with a 77 and Carson Arcuri from Granite Point taking second.  

For the first time in years there was a female division with Amber Arnold from Castlegar edging out MacKenzie Field in a two-hole playoff to take first.  

Both girls posted identical rounds of 88.

Rain doesn't slow Hoodikoff, Granite Pointe's Renwick second

Saturday, at Granite Pointe, Hoodikoff overcame a chilly day on the links to finish on top the standings with a 4-over-par 76.

Hoodikoff finished three-shots in front of Granite Pointe’s Nolan Renwick.

Renwick, competing in the 13-14 year division, carded a 79 to finished first in the flight.  

In division play, Underwood  placed first in the 17- 18 division with an 84.

Alex Rugg, from Champion Lakes, finished second with an 87.

In the 15- 16-year division, Arnold was first with an 88 and Isaac Janzen from Creston was second with a 90.  

Braden McKay from RTCC was second behind Renwick with an 84.

In the skill prizes Underwood won KP for the 15 - 18 year olds and Ryan Fullerton from RTCC won long drive.  

Jeff Ashton from Castlegar won KP in 14 and under and Braden McKay took the long drive.

The Junior Golf season continues Saturday when the tour arrives in Nakusp.
