LETTER: Jocks 1 - Academics 0 at GFSS

To The Editor;

"“Our Mission as educators is to encourage the physical, intellectual, creative, ethical, social and cultural growth in our students" states the mission statement of the Grand Forks Secondary School.

Sounds promising, but the current administration clearly prioritizes the physical aspect of education over literacy.

We are appalled that they have chosen to close the school library and turn its former home into a fitness centre, having the books and other resources hauled to the local landfill in the process.

They have truly dropped the ball for the children of our community.
