Parade an annual feature of the Grand Forks fall fair
By Contributor
Believe it or not, the Grand Forks' Fall Fair is fast approaching. Amidst the planning for exhibits, mini-chuckwagon races and vendors, Chris-Anne Gilmore, owner of Your Dollar Store With More and head of the Parade Committee, is busy helping to organize the 2011 Fall Fair Parade.
This year's parade has the theme “Looking to the Future”. The parade is open to any business, group, or organization that would like to participate, and there is no fee to enter.
The parade starts Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. at Selkirk College and will make its way to the fairgrounds at Dick Bartlett Park, behind the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre. The floats will then be left on display until 2 p.m.
Any group wishing to enter the parade must fill out an entry form by Sept. 2. Participants may walk in the parade as a group or an individual, ride on a float, ride a horse or be pulled by one. The possibilities and numerous and exciting!
Show your community spirit and do your part to add a little something to this year's fair by entering the Fall Fair Parade. For more information, call Chris-Anne at 250-442-2252 or email: yds180@hotmail.com.
