Free Virtual RAFT Employment Program: May 25—June 25

In response to COVID-19, Kootenay Career Developmenrt Society is offering our free, five-week employment program in a virtual setting! '

Job seekers can gain skills and connect with others from the comfort of their own homes. Our program offers a supportive, fun and inspiring environment focussed on job readiness for the Retail, Accommodation, Food Service and Tourism (RAFT) sectors.

Participants undertake self and career exploration; learn skills in customer service, communication and teamwork; create cover letters and resumes; and develop interview skills. Additionally, RAFT offers in-demand certifications and training:

• Foodsafe Level 1

• Serving it Right

• SuperHost

• WHMIS

• Microsoft Word

The program runs four days per week, Monday to Thursday. Participants will meet virtually from 9:30—11:30 and have daily assignments.

We offer grocery and clothing supports and completion bonuses. Applicants must have access to a computer, be unemployed or under-employed and not enrolled in school fulltime. If interested, applicants should sent a cover letter and resume to raft@kcds.ca or call 250-352-6200 ext. 316.
