Spooky fun starts early for horse riding fans

Halloween came early as the Boundary Horse Association held its annual spooky ride with their October gymkhana and competition. Competitors from the very youngest to adults vied for the first place ribbon from the judges including Grand Forks City Councillor Cher Wyers.

First place ribbons went to Zara Todoruk in 19 and over class, Amanda Knighten in the 14 - 19 class, and Emma Labro for the 13 and under group. But everybody went home with a ribbon for their place in the group.

The horse show was held last Saturday and Sunday Oct. 2 and 3 at the Boundary Horse Association grounds.

In 2010, Mattei received a Jack Webster Foundation fellowship to pursue postgraduate journalism studies through the London School of Journalism. She also holds a degree in economics from UBC.
