Snowfall Warning for Boundary/West Kootenay

Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for Boundary/West Kootenay regions, with higher amounts expected on Highway 3, Kootenay Pass and Paulson Summit.
Snowfall amounts between 20 to 30 cm can be expected.
“A robust frontal system is sliding south over the Interior of BC,” said the Environment Canada website. “Light snow will begin (Monday) evening over West Kootenay and Kootenay Pass. Snow will intensify early Tuesday morning.”
Environment Canada said total snowfall accumulation over Kootenay Pass is expected to be 20 to 30 cm. For the West Kootenay region, the highest accumulations are expected over higher terrain and will amount to 20 to 30 cm storm total.
Environment Canada said the heavy snow is expected to ease overnight Tuesday.
The public is advised to stay off highways as poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
