UPDATE: Names released in alleged Montrose murder

The names of the victim and suspect in a homicide in Montrose Thursday have beed rleased, according ot RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

"On May 2, 2019, William Sigsworth, a 73-year-old Montrose resident, was charged with Second Degree Murder contrary to Section 235 of the Criminal Code of Canada in the alleged murder of his wife, 71-year-old Morag Sigsworth. 

"On May 6, 2019, William Sigsworth made his first court appearance in Provincial Court, in Rossland, BC.  William Sigsworth will be held in custody and will make his next appearance in court by video on May 14, 2019, in Grand Forks, BC.

"A Publication Ban under Section 517 of the Criminal Code of Canada is currently in place and prohibits the publishing of any details about the incident at this time."
